How To Receive An SMS Notification When A Camgirl Is Live On MyFreeCams

MyFreeCams used to have a feature that would send you an SMS notification every time a camgirl you like was live on cam. Some years back, for some unknown reasons, that feature was removed. Now if you want to be notified when your favorite camgirl is online, you only have the option of receiving an email or a browser notification (sound).

If you’re on your computer a lot, a browser notification is the good choice of the two. The only issue is you have to have MyFreeCams open in a browser tab. Otherwise, you won’t receive the sound notification.

You also have the option of being notified by email.  But let’s be real, nowadays not that many people check their email inbox. I check mine about once or twice a month. You’re probably the same.

Why not instead just turn on email notifications on your smartphone? That way you’ll see the email MFC sends you when a camgirl is live on cam. You could do that, sure, but you’d be opening yourself to be notified every single time a new email hits your inbox. No matter who it’s from.

If your inbox is anything like mine, you’re probably bombarded with spam emails. Turning on email notifications is probably not that good of an idea.

What if MyFreeCams brought back the SMS notification feature, would you use it? If you have a favorite camgirl on MFC then chances are you probably would. But MFC is most likely not going to reinstate that feature so you’re shit out of luck. Not really though.

For the past couple of months, I’ve been using a site called to receive an SMS notification on my smartphone whenever a camgirl goes live on MyFreeCams.

The site is free to use and incredibly simple to set up. If you want to receive an SMS notification when your favorite camgirls are live on cam,  keep on reading. I’ll walk you through the process of setting it up.

What is

IFTTT is a simple script based web service that’s used to create chains between two platforms. The name IFTTT stands for ‘If This Then That’. The site allows you to set up conditional statements that run every time a certain action is met. Don’t worry, it won’t be too technical for you to figure out, I promise.

How the service works is, whenever you receive a new email in your inbox from a specific email address, IFTTT will send you an SMS text letting you know.

So how do I use IFTTT to send me an SMS notification when a camgirl I like goes live on MyFreeCams? It’s really simple, follow the steps below.

Setting up IFTTT to SMS you

First, log in to your account on MyFreeCams. Keep in mind that you need to be a premium member on MFC in order to use their Model Notification Feature, which is needed to set up the SMS feature on IFTTT. If you’re not a premium member on MyFreeCams and thinking of joining, check out our review of MyFreeCams.

Once you’re logged in, go to ‘My Account‘ then click on ‘My Model Notifications‘.

In the ‘Add Notifications’ section, type in the name of the camgirl you want to be notified when she goes live on cam. Make sure the name is spelled exactly the same as it is in her profile, underscores included if her name has them.

Now it’s time to head on over to — Sign up for an account, then log in.

You first have to create a new applet. In the top navigation bar, click on ‘My Applets‘ then on ‘New Applet‘. Once you’re in the create applet page, click on the ‘+this‘ blue text.

Create a new applet on IFTTT

In the ‘Choose A Service‘ page, you’ll search for Gmail. Or you can use the standard ‘Email’ service if you’re not on Gmail. Though I’m not too sure if this works with other email providers other than Gmail, feel free to try it out.

Once you click on the Gmail icon, you’ll be asked to connect your Gmail account to IFTTT. Follow through the steps provided, it’s pretty simple.

When you’re done connecting your Gmail, you’ll be asked to choose a trigger. Choose the one that says ‘New email in inbox from‘.

IFTTT Trigger
Choose your desired trigger

In the inbox trigger field, type in the email address MyFreeCams uses to send out notifications. That email is: [email protected]

Type in the email MyFreeCams uses

Create the trigger then move on to the next step. On the next page, click on the ‘+that‘ blue text. Then type in ‘SMS‘.

Select the green SMS icon

Choose the green SMS icon, the first one. On the next page, you’ll be asked to add your phone number. Go through the steps, then in the Choose action page, click on ‘Send me an SMS‘.

Format your SMS message to your liking

In the message box, type in whatever you like. It’s best to keep it short and simple. Make sure you keep the ‘{{Subject}}’ line in there. You can remove the ‘Hey Name,’ part if you like and just leave the {{Subject}}. It’s up to you. When you’re done, click on the ‘Create Action’ button.

Review the applet then click on Finish to create

Click the Finish button and you’re all set. The next time your favorite camgirl goes live on cam, you’ll get a notification sent straight to your smartphone.

Now you can’t use the ‘I didn’t know you were online’ excuse next time your fav camgirl asks why you were late, or not in her room at all.

Though I do only use this feature with MyFreeCams, I’m certain it will work with just about any other camsite. Just change the email address that that camsite uses in the ‘Add Trigger’ field section, and you’re set.

Keep in mind that IFTTT does have limitations. If you’re in the US  or Canada, you get 100 SMS notifications per month. If you’re outside of the US or Canada, you only get 10 SMS notifications per month, so use them wisely!
